Patinated bronze ‘à double usage’ usubata

FFantastic dark brown patinated bronze ‘à double usage’ usubata 薄端 flower vase with a very broad everted mouth. The vase can be displayed two ways as the broad mouth is a separate part.
Its baluster body decorated in high relief with a dragon 龍 (ryû) coiling its long body around the vase which has a rock-like texture. Raised by three curved feet shaped like crashing waves.
The bottom with a seal by studio ‘Shôun’dô’昌雲堂.
Size with insert:
Height 30.1 cm, Diameter 35.2 cm.
Period: Japan – Taishô period/Early Shôwa period (Second quarter 20th century).
It is in a very good condition with some minor traces of age. Please take a close look at some traces at the bottom side of the mouth. For a clear condition reference, please look at the photos as well.
