Great pair of rustic-looking patinated metal baluster vases with a swirling spiral design in high relief along the body. The neck decorated with a pair of subtle ears with large movable golden metal rings.

One of them with an ‘elephant skin’-like relief texture, while the other has more of a hand-shaped ceramic finish to it with the same ‘rough’ texture along the rims.

Height 29.8 cm, Diameter 19 cm.
Inside diameter of at the most narrow part: 8cm. Inside depth until narrowest point: 26 cm.
Weight of each vase: 3.3 kg.
Period: Japan – Meiji period (1868-1912).

In a very good original condition with traces of use conform age. Because the vases are not waterproof, an additional container must be placed inside if they are to be used for flowers. But of course they are also very suitable as a decorative piece in themselves. Please look at the photos for a clear condition reference.
