Cast iron water vessel
Very large and heavy round cast iron water vessel decorated with meander-bands in low-relief.
The knob of the lid is in the shape of very naturalistically shaped pine cones attached to a branch. It also is inscribed with three kanji describing its origin.
On the sides there are two subtle stylized dragon-shaped open ears with a pair of ‘kan’ 鐶 (open spirals of heavy metal wire twisted into a kettle and used to lift it).
It is in a nice original condition. The container has been tested to see if it leaks, but there is no leak. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
Height 29 cm, Diameter 38.5 cm.
Weight: 18.2 kg (!!)
When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity.
