Nice bronze baluster shaped vase with beautiful multi-coloured patina; light brown, reddish, blueish and greenish.
Made by Hasegawa Yoshihisa 長谷川恵久 (1928-2002), the vase wears his seal on the bottom reading ‘Yoshihisa’ 恵久.
The vase in very good condition.
Including original wooden signed and sealed tomobako (storage-box), with documentation (in Japanese) about the artist stamped with his seal.

Hasegawa Yoshihisa was the son of Hasegawa Gasen. Like his father he also excelled in bronze works. He founded a studio in Yamagata city, named Gasen, which currently is managed by his son Masaya (born in 1959). He was a committee member and judge of the renowned Nitten exhibitions and a trustee member of the Japan New Arts Craftsmen Federation. He held many honourable positions in the Japanese societies of metal arts and in 1997 received the prime minister’s award by the 19th Japan New Arts Craftsmen Federation.
