Dark grey stone ware vase by Tôgake Sachiko 藤掛祐子

Lovely reniform dark grey stone ware vase with a geometrical design of circles, triangles and lines on a green-ecru ash glazed ground.

Signed at the bottom by the female artist Tôgake Sachiko 藤掛祐子 (contemporary artist). She was selected for the 33rd Nitten Exhibition (2001), and for the 7th Nikkokai Exhibition. Received an incentive award from the Hakokai Exhibition. And also an Exhibition Director Award from the Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum ‘Tomo no Kai Ceramic Art’.
Amazing achievements for this artist, as it didn’t (doesn’t) happen often that a female is selected for such prestigious associations.
