Shigaraki’ware 信楽焼 stoneware dish

Large Shigaraki’ware 信楽焼 stoneware dish with a handpainted design of a sparrow 雀 (suzume) flying amid bamboo 竹 (take) executed in dark iron oxide- and blue glaze. On a grey craquelé glazed ground with iron oxide rim.

Sealed on the bottom side.
Mid Shôwa period (Mid 20th century).
