Large overglaze polychrome enamel Japanese Imari charger with a central roundel depicting cherry-blossom and other flowers, the border shows various floral motives and auspicious phoenix-birds with poenies.
This so-called kirande large plate has overglaze gilding. Some loose of gilding and old restorations. The bottom shows spurs marks and a possible inventory mark of an old European collection.
These Imari large chargers date from around 1700-1720.
(Imari porcelain is sometimes called Arita after its export harbor)
