Two cast iron tetsubin 鉄瓶 (kettles):
1) A cast iron tetsubin with embossed horizontal ribs around its body and a large Japanese character 子 (ko), meaning child but is also the Chinese zodiac sign of rat.
Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912-1926).
Height 21 cm, Width 22.5 cm and Depth 19 cm.
2) A cast iron tetsubin with embossed pine tree 松 (matsu) design. The knob shapes like a pine cone.
Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912-1926).
Height 21.5 cm, Width 22 cm and Depth 17.5 cm.
Both kettles are in a very good original condition with some superficial traces of rust. Please look at the photos for a condition reference. The kettles have been tested to see if they leak, but there no leakage.
