A square copper post lantern 灯籠 (tôrô), surmounted by a pagoda-style roof with a decorative finial.
The lantern chamber is fitted with two frosted glass panels, decorated with a family crest 家紋 (kamon). Above, decorative pierced gilt metal panels. One side fitted with a hinged door.
Can also be used as a hanging lantern.
Period: Japan – Shôwa period (1926–1989).
Dimensions:
Height 48 cm, Width 34 cm, Depth 33.5 cm.
In good condition with traces of wear and surface patina consistent with age. Two glass panels missing. Please refer to the photographs for a clear impression of the condition.
