Kewpie Dolls made their debut in 1909 as illustrations in the Christmas issue of Ladies Home Journal in the USA. This was also the case in Japan, and by cleaver branding these cute cherub’s became in the 20’s the face of the new and likely named Mayonnaise brand, which is still active and internationally popular.
