A lovely and serene large two-panel byôbu 屏風 (room divider) with a peaceful painting of a pair of mandarin ducks 鴛鴦 (oshidori) resting on a rock next to a bush with orange autumn leaves, yellow asters 野菊 (nogiku) and white narcissus 水栓 (suisen). This multi-coloured painting is set on a paper background.
Faint stripes in the air create a calm and fresh foggy atmosphere around the painting.
The screen is signed and sealed Buntô 文濤 in the lower left corner.
The screen is protected by a dark red lacquer wooden frame.
It is in a good condition, with only some signs of age and wear. The most noteworthy is some small holes as shown on the photos and a faint black smear (please see the photos). For a general condition reference, please look at the photos as well.
