Hanging scroll (kakejiku) with a painting on silk depicting Hagimusume, a white heron who danced in the body of a girl known from various Kabuki and traditional dances. As a white heron she is dress in a white furisode garment (used by unmarried girls). With very nice original dark-green brocade mounting completed with gold-colored young bamboo leaves. This design is very typical for the period. Some very light horizontal wrinkling but overal in very nice original condition. Signed and sealed in the lower right corner by Iwasa Kokô (1884-1951). Born in 1884 in Nagoya, he was a student of Taniguchi Kokyo in Kyoto. In a wooden transport box. Taisho – early Showa-period.
