Alluring kakejiku 掛け軸 (hanging scroll) with a nice multi-coloured painting of a dragon descending from the clouds, a rooster standing on a rock, a horse and an ox lying on the ground. All four are part of the Chinese zodiac animals.
The painting is done in colour on silk.
Signed and sealed in the lower left corner: Rokudani, in the middle of spring of the year Shingai (1911). Possibly Hoshi Rokudanu.
The mounting is made of shiny green silk with a blue swirling flower motif. The jikusaki 軸先 (rod ends) are made of dark brown wood.
The painting itself is in a very good condition with some very minor spotting. The mounting has traces of age, wear and restorations. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
