Price:  3.200,00

A lovely and serene large two-panel byôbu 屏風 (room divider) with a peaceful nicely detailed painting of a rooster and a chicken resting under a blooming cherry tree 桜 (sakura) and next to light pink Chinese peonies 芍薬 (shakuyaku).
Faint stripes in the air create a calm and fresh foggy atmosphere around the painting.

This multi-coloured painting is set on a paper background, and protected by a dark red lacquer wooden frame.

The screen is signed and sealed Buntô 文濤 in the lower right corner.

It is in very good condition, with overall some minor signs of age, wear and small old restorations. Please look at the pictures for condition reference.

Total width: 189.6 cm (2 x 94.8 cm); Height: 170.2 cm.

Period: Japan – Early Showa-period.

This room divider is light in weight and can also be easily mounted flat on a wall and presented as one piece of art. Also, the height of the screen is a convenient size for many interiors.
