Mandarin ducks byobu
A very decorative 2 panel byobu with a colorful painting on silk of mandarin ducks swimming under a cherry tree in blossom. The ducks are very well painted and in Japan symbol of eternal love. The sakura tree symbolizes a time of renewal and optimism.
The screen has a silk brocade border and a hardwood frame and is in very good condition.
Signed and sealed on the left panel: Juzo.
The screen has a paper back with a floral design.
Taishō period (1912-1926).
This screen is light in weight and can also be easily mounted flat on a wall and presented as one piece of art.
