Low 6-panel byôbu with a riverscape & birds, signed Kinsen 琹僊

Lovely low six-panel byôbu 屏風 (room divider) with a painting of a lively riverscape; on its left bank a bamboo grove with a sparrow resting on a branch and with blooming orchids on the ground. In the middle a blooming orange and white chrysanthemum bush hangs over the calmly flowing winding river while two birds look to another from opposite sides. On the right a slanting blooming plum tree on the side of a hill with a large rock at its base where a pair of mandarin ducks are resting.

Signed and sealed Kinsen 琹僊 (琴仙) in the lower right corner.

A multi-coloured painting on paper which is protected by a black lacquer frame with its original hardware.

In a good condition with some traces of age, wear and old restorations. Please take a close look at the photos of the small hole next to the signature, and of a old restoration on the back. For a clear condition reference, please look at the photos as well.

Due to its smaller size and because the screen is light in weight, the byôbu is very suitable to be mounted flat on a wall and presented as one piece of art.
