Colourful medium-sized six-panel byôbu

Price:  1.800,00

A beautiful and colourful medium-sized six-panel byôbu 屏風 (room divider) with a luscious painting of a rich flower garden. This multi-coloured painting is set on a golden silk background.
The flower garden is filled with all sorts of different blooming flowers, like blue bell flowers 桔梗 (kikyô), red star lily’s カノコユリ (kanokoyuri), white lilies 百合(yuri) and pink tree peonies 牡丹 (botan).
The screen is signed once: ‘Gyôun’ 暁雲 and sealed two times, of which one ‘Minoru’ 實氏, by the artist in the lower right corner.
The screen is protected by a black lacquered frame. It is in a very good condition, with some very minor signs of age, wear and restorations. Please look at the photos for reference. The golden silk and multi-coloured paint is still very vibrant and detailed, which is a noteworthy feat considering its age of approximately 100 years (Taisho period).
This room divider is very light in weight and can also be easily mounted flat on a wall and presented as one piece of art.

Total width: 267.4 cm (2 x 45.5 and 4 x 44.1 cm); Height: 136.6 cm.

When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity.
