Large polychrome Tibetan painting depicting the founder of Tibetan Buddhism Padmasambhava with his two wives and two emanations. Emanation bodies (nirmanakaya) are representations of the Buddha that appears in the world to teach people the path to liberation. This painting, painted on canvas with natural pigments, shows signs of age and ware. The painting dates from the early 20th century, about 100 -120 years old.
