Framed old polychrome painting depicting a hawk overpowering a crow. The hawk stands complacently on the lying bird while pressing the crow vigorously to the ground with his claws. The poor cornered crows struggle is represented by feathers lying on the ground beside him.
The fighting birds are shielded by some bamboos. A beautiful and refined painted image with a lot of detail.

The painting was originally a hanging scroll that was placed in this wooden frame at a later date. The painting bulges lightly in de wooden frame. It is in a good condition with some expected traces of age and wear, as it has a it has a respectable age of about 155-220 years. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.

Late Edo period – First part 19 th century.
