Nice leporello photo book filled with polychrome lithograph postcards of famous Japanese bijinga woodblock prints, mostly nude. In total 50 pictures, 23 one side, 27 on the other.
Bijin-ga 美人画 (“beautiful person picture”) is a generic term for pictures of beautiful women (bijin) in Japanese art, especially in woodblock printing of the ukiyo-e genre.
There are works from renowned artists, like Kitagawa Utamaro 喜多川 and Torii Kiyonaga 鳥居 清長.
The book has red faux-leather covers and an inscription in sunken gold ‘Photography’.
In a good original condition with traces of wear and age. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
