A rare and nice Kurata Tatami Do

A rare and nice Kurata Tatami Do, worn by the Samurai in the late Edo period. A lightweight portable folding (tatami) armor made from small iron plates (karuta). The Karuta are connected to eachother by chainmail. The Do is black lacquered and decorated with several family crests (mon). The upper leg protectors have beer fur as extra decoration. The blue/green lacing is in very good condition. Some parts of the small plates have lacquer damage. Please see pictures. Overall in good original condition.
