Nice large carved blackened wooden ornament 置物 (okimono) shaped like a Japanese samurai helmet 兜 (kabuto). Surmounted by a pair of detailed polymer faux-antlers.
Approx. dimensions:
Height with antlers 40 cm,, Height excluding the antlers 25 cm, Width 45.5 cm, Depth 28 cm.
Weight 5.3 kg.
Period: Japan – Mid/Late Shôwa period (Second half 20th century).
In a good original condition. Some wear conform aging. Hardly visible shrinkage crack on top. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
