Attractive black lacquer wooden upright katana sword stand 太刀掛 (tachi’kake) with a hearth-shaped base and support.
The base with a gold maki-e design of a landscape with a bridge leading to a traditional Japanese thatched house nestled next to a rock overlooking the sea.

Height 65 cm, Width 28.5 cm, Depth 28.5 cm.
Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912-1926).
