Attractive large conical-shaped black lacquer samurai travelling hat 一文字笠 (ichimonji’gasa) with a rare gold lacquer mon 紋 (family crest) depicting a cross with an open center in a circle.
On the top of the hat a copper chrysanthemum shaped knob and at the back a small chrysanthemum shaped knob with a copper ring.
The inside of the jingasa lacquered red.
The Jingasa is in good condition with some signs of age and wear. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
