Fantastic black lacquer 蝋色漆 (rôiro’urushi) tea caddy 棗 (natsume) with a refined golden takamaki-e 高蒔絵 (high-relief design) of a torii 鳥居 (Shinto shrine archway) and a bridge surrounded by pine trees 松 (matsu), leading to a Japanese traditional style temple partially hidden behind a hill and surrounded by even taller pine trees.
The black ground accentuated by subtle gold speckled clouds.
The entire interior executed in a beautiful shiny silver lacquer, finished by gold fundame 粉溜地 rims. The circular recess at the bottom with the same lovely silver lacquer.

The natsume is made by the artist Doi Yoshimine 土居義峰 (1964), who is born as the eldest son of his family. He became a student of Masamine Maebata 前端雅峯in 1980. In 1994 he attended the Tanko Tea Ceremony Biennale, and in 1995 he became the head of the Miyabi Lacquer art group.

Including original wooden signed and sealed tomobako 供箱 (storage box), and Japanese leaflet about the artist.

The natsume is in a very good condition. Please look a the photos for a condition reference. This black layer in combination with the contrasting gold tones gives the tea caddy a striking and wondrous appearance.
