Lacquered wooden zushi-shrine with Amida Buddha

Exceptional dark red lacquered wooden zushi-shrine. Its black lacquered inside is elegantly decorated with a lotus pond with white and red lotus flowers and lotus leaves in gold maki-e lacquer.
With decorative metalwork on the outside.
The shrine has a black wooden Raikō Amida (Amitabha) with his left hand the vitarka-gesture or the raiko’in gesture of welcoming the souls of the departed to his Paradise (Jōdō or Sanskrit: Sukhavati).
The right hand in de giving varada-gesture pointing to the ground.
Amida is standing on a throne. One small piece of the phoenixhead is missing (see last picture) but overall in nice original condition with minor traces of age.
