Great large wooden tray naturalistically shaped like a long banana leaf with some folded edges. Delicately carved showing leaf veins and ‘tears’. A very cute detail is a snail in a corner of the leaf.
The bottom with an inscription, signature and seal. Signed ‘Carved by Shija’ 之麝刀.
Including original signed and sealed wooden storage box 供箱 (tomobako).

Length 109.5 cm, Width 37 cm, Depth 0.7 cm.
Taishō period (1912-1926)
