Fantasic tray ” Hirobuta” with a decoration of various fans in raised gold Maki-e lacquer and gold sprinkles on a reddish-brown lacquered base.
One fan depicting cherryblossom tree (sakura). Cherryblossom is the symbolic flower of the spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life.
The other fan depicting 3 very finely detailed crane birds, ( tsuru ) in raised gold on a reddish-brown base. Crane birds are the symbols of good fortune and longevity.
One fan decorated with pine trees and pine tree needles in raised gold Maki-e lacquer. Pine trees symbolizing longevity, good fortune and steadfastness.
Another fan depicting bamboo trees and grasses on reddish-brown lacquered base. Bamboo is the symbol of prosperity.
In its original red lacquered transport box (Tomobako). On the box in large characters: Hirobuta (tray) and in small characters: corners with Karakusa motif.
This motif which is found on the corners of the tray symbolizes longevity and prosperity. The tray is in very good condition. Shōwa period (1926-1989).
