Red lacquer andon

Fully restored cylindrical red lacquer wooden paper-enclosed lantern 遠州行灯 (enshû’andon), also known as a maru’andon. When lit, the fine washi-paper gives a lovely warm glow.
The base with a small drawer which was used to keep the matches.

The shade has a revolving frame which can be opened, this way you were able to light the candle! Now the lamp is equipped with a newly electrified CE-fitting.

Height 81.5 cm, Diameter 31.5 cm.
Meiji period (1868-1912).
The washi-paper has been completely restored, and the frame itself is in a very good condition.
This lamp is fragile, we cannot ship it, pick up only!
