Remarkable Art Deco-style rectangular tebako 手箱 (box for personal accessories) with a slightly arched lid. The entire exterior clad with fine black leather and on top lacquered with golden stylized pine trees in low relief.
From the sides up two bands with a fine copper lock to fasten the lid. Including two keys. The lock functions in the old fashioned Japanese way, not very smooth.
The interior of the box lacquered black. The lid signed by a previous owner: ‘Ootsuki’shi’ 大月氏.
In a very good condition with minimal traces of age and wear. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.

Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912-1926).
