A nice storage box (Tebunko) for documents and paper (ryoshibako).
Decorated with maki-e gold and red lacquered floral motif, depicting stone carnations (tokonatsu)
The rim of the lid and box in goldleaf.
The edges curve nicely inwards.
At the bottom of the box is a brand mark: Zohiko. In original marked box stating: “Tebunko” and “Zohiko from Heian”, implying Kyoto. In perfect condition. Showa-period.
