Large beautiful black lacquered 蝋色漆 (roiro’urushi) three-tiered jûbako 重箱 (picnic box) with two covers, of which one can be used as a serving tray. All separate pieces are decorated with each their own silver and gold hiramaki-e 平蒔絵 and takamaki-e 高蒔絵 serene design of foliage, like fern leaves and a small pine branch, and tangerines. Which are symbols of Japanese new year.

Lacquered with a vermilion interior which is accentuated by gold lacquered rim.

The jubako picnic box is overall in a good condition, with minor traces of age and wear. Please look at the photos for reference to its condition.
