A massive and exceptional bamboo hanakago 花籠 (ikebana flower basket). The unusual and modernist basket with a loop handle and showing fine wickerwork in thick strips of bamboo of a light colour. The loose plaiting style adds considerable volume, yet the basket maintains a light and airy appearance.

Height 54 cm, Width 76 cm, Depth 72 cm.
Period: Japan – Shôwa period (1916-1989).
