Unusually-shaped low and wide wickerwork bamboo ikebana basket 花籠 (hanakago) with an undulating oval rim.

The basket is finely woven with thin bamboo strips using different types of plating. Densely woven in horizontal fashion with some criss-cross lines. The bamboo of the vase has a lovely warm soft brown hue.

Signed at the bottom.

Including a low separate dark brown lacquered bamboo segment vase. This cylindrical container can be used for flower arrangements.

The basket is in a very good condition with minor traces of age. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
