A lovely wooden cha’dansu 茶箪笥 (tea cabinet), in a single section. Fully restored, cleaned, and waxed.

The cabinet, constructed from the esteemed ‘Keyaki’ wood (Zelkova – Japanese oak), features a deep and warm brown finish. The faces of the drawers and the panels of the sliding doors are veneered in distinctive Tamo (ash) wood with a soft sheen.

The sliding doors are embellished with small circular thumb grips, and the drawers are fitted with elegant ‘warabite’-shaped bail handles.

Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912-1926).
