Alluring, well-made Kamakura-bori 鎌倉彫 (lit. Kamakura carved) solid wooden étagère table with elaborate carvings depicting a bed of lotus leaves and buds. The top surface with natural flowing edges, and small inlaid ‘seeds’.
Raised by four curved legs connected by a shelf with a matching design.
From a Western standpoint, it embodies the essence of Art Nouveau design.
Made of indigenous Japanese Judas wood 桂 (katsura) from Hokkaido with a nice dark brown colour.

Height 68.5 cm, Width 87.5 cm, Depth 53 cm.
Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912-1926).
