Pretty kô’dansu 小箪笥 (small cabinet of drawers) in one section. Fully restored, cleaned and waxed.

The drawer faces and exterior are made of indigenous kiri (paulownia) wood. The entire outside is varnished in a sought after warm brown hue, a colour that we like to call ‘golden oak’.

Configured with three stacked drawers equipped with large iron circular lock plates flanked by a pair of iron ‘warabite’ bail handles with matching escutcheons.
These smooth running drawers are very deep and have a lot of volume, for easy storage.

It is in a very good restored condition with minimal aesthetically pleasing signs of age. Please see the photos for a condition reference. No keys included.

Height 60.3 cm, Width 59.7 cm, Depth 39 cm.
Period: Japan – Meiji period (1868-1912).
