Stunning and completely restored kô’dansu 小箪笥 (small cabinet of drawers) in one section. Fully restored, cleaned and waxed.

The exterior and drawer fronts are made of precious indigenous Keyaki wood (Zelkova – “Japanese oak”). Varnished in a deep dark brown hue still showing its strong natural wood grain.

The kô’dansu has a pair of sliding doors with circular thumb grips with a bamboo design, and six drawers of different size equipped with sturdy shakudô ‘kushigata’-shaped bail handles. The lowest drawer with an oval lock (no key present). The drawers have a lot of volume for easy storage, and they run very smoothly.

It is in a very good completely restored condition with some minor traces of age. Please take a close look at the photos of the restored sliding doors. For a clear condition reference, please look at the photos as well.
