Magnificent two section restored and fully functional Japanese cabinet, Yonezawa tansu.
Shunkai transparent lacquered clothing cabinet with extraordinary and elaborate hardware, large lock plates and petal-shaped iron handles. The lockplates are decorated with crane birds, “tsuru” in Japan a the symbol of good luck and longevity because of its fabulous thousand-year life. The lock plate on the hinged door is decorated with a turtle, the symbol of longevity, good luck and support.
The cabinet has 7 drawers in different sizes; 5 spacious drawers and behind the revolving door 2 extra drawers.
There are no keys with this cabinet.
With four “carry-on” handles on each side of the upper and lower part for easy transport and “locking” the upper section to the lower part (please see pictures).
