Fine and fully functional Japanese high and narrow cabinet of drawers 衣装箪笥 (ishô’dansu) in one section.
The drawer faces are made of precious ‘Keyaki’ wood (Zelkova – Japanese oak), and the exterior of indiginous hinoki cypress wood. Lacquered, even the back, with lovely Shunkei-style red lacquer still showing the lovely wood grain.
Constructed with four large stacked drawers equipped with sturdy iron ‘warabite’ bail handles. These are running smooth and are very spacious. Ideal to store a lot of things, and also very suitable as a nightstand.
Each side equipped with a retractable ‘pole carrying’-handle, for easy transport.
In a very good cleaned and waxed condition with minimal traces of age. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
