Large wooden Yakushi buddha in a plain wooden shrine.
The medicine Buddha Yakushi nyorai is standing on a hexagonal double throne in front of a gilded mandorla with carved scrolling cloud pattern.
The Buddha holds in his left hand a small medicine pot while his other hands is in the giving gesture (vitarka mudra).
Face (with inlayed eyes and jewels in the fore head and hair) and breast are gilded, the robe is black.
Yakushi: Edo Period, shrine: Meiji Period.
