Wooden figure of Kobo dashi

Large polychrome painted wooden figure of Kukai or Kobo dashi (the Great Teacher) (774-835), founder of Esoteric Shingon Buddhism with his hands in his typical gesture. This statue has glass eyes and the figure has a beautiful gentle smile. The Kobo dashi’s robe is nicely curved and completely executed in the traditional way with the way monks dress in the last more then 1000 years.
In reasonable condition with signs of age and use. Please check pictures. Approx. 200 years old.
