A very refined wooden okimono 置物 of the revered Buddhist monk Bodhidharma, commonly known as Daruma 達磨 (482-539). Depicted in a seated position, exuberantly yawning and stretching his arms and legs, after his long years of meditation.
Inlaid in glass, respectively bone and with meticulous detail are his eyes, pupils, and
teeth, adding depth and realism to the depiction.

Weight 19,9 gram.
Period: Japan – Late Edo period (First half 19th century).
Including authentication certificate from ´Mastromauro Arte Giapponese’, from 2017.
