A  dark red lacquered wooden zushi-shrine, its black lacquered inside decorated with a lotus pond with white and red lotus flowers and lotus leaves in gold maki-e lacquer.

With decorative metalwork.

The shrine has a black wooden Raikō Amida (Amitabha) with his left hand the vitarka-gesture or the raiko’in gesture of welcoming the souls of the departed to his Paradise (Jōdō or Sanskrit: Sukhavati).

The right hand in de giving varada-gesture pointing to the ground.

Amida is standing on a throne.

Edo period.
