Black lacquered zushi-shrine with a fine gilded kannon, the zushi inside gilded.
Above a round lotus-throne stands a form of the Eleven Headed Kannon (Jūichimen Kannon).
In Sanskrit: Ekadasamukha: the Jūichimen Senju Sengan Kannon, Kannon with Eleven heads, “Thousand” Hands and “Thousand” Eyes.
The central hands folded in front of the breast and standing before a round halo.
The gilded figure has a fine carved face.
Each of the two doors of the shrine shows a family crest “mon”: left the platycodon-flower (kikyō) of the Chisan-branch of the esoteric Shingon-school.
Right an unidentified crest.
Edo Period.
Size; Kannon: 26,5 cm
Zushi : H. : 55,5 cm; W. : 19,4 cm D. : 14,5 cm.
The zushi and kannon will be packed very carefully and has insured shipping.
